Qualitative Data Analysis in Evaluation: A hands-on introduction to the MAXQDA Software (H3)

Résumé

The rigorous use of a qualitative data analysis (QDA) software is key to enhancing the transparency, credibility and quality of both qualitative and mixed methods evaluations. Firmly grounded on such principle, this workshop will equip participants with practical knowledge on how to use a QDA software (MAXQDA) that will enhance their evaluation practice.

By the end of the workshop, participants will be able to attain two primary goals. First, to perform all the different tasks associated with a state-of-the-art qualitative data analysis. Second, to increase the quality and relevance of data analysis findings.

Participants will also learn how to import their data (texts, audio-video files, pics, PDFs), set up a code system, (re)arrange codes based on changes emerging during the analytical process, assign codes to text segments, write memos, attach them to documents or codes and to retrieve labels and links as needed.

Note: participants must bring their laptop AND install the demo version of MAXQDA. A 30-day demo version (for Mac and Windows) is available at www.maxqda.com.
